- Hillenbrand to establish community fund to invest in strategic projects in the community
- Company and community will oversee $50,000 of grant distributions per year over the next four years
BATESVILLE, Ind., Feb. 6, 2023 – Hillenbrand announced a commitment of $200,000 to the Batesville community through the establishment of a new fund. The fund, Hillenbrand Partner with Possibility Fund, will act as seed money in the community and distribute a total of $50,000 per year to qualifying organizations over the next four years. Funds will be administered by the Ripley County Community Foundation (RCCF).
Hillenbrand strategically selects partners that align with its Purpose and Core Values, cultivates growth within the organization, and drives increased value in the community. To support these objectives, the Company launched a new community engagement strategy in 2022, focused on four key areas of impact: Health and Safety; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Education and Trade Skills; and the Environment. This new fund is a direct result of Hillenbrand’s engagement strategy.
Hillenbrand is committed to the communities where it operates and strives to be a responsible corporate citizen through the commitments it makes. The Company understands the role that community investment plays in the ongoing vitality of a community and the people and businesses that call it home.
“Hillenbrand is proud to be headquartered in Batesville and we value the opportunities we have to partner and engage with the local community. We are committed to continuing our long history of support and investment in the Batesville community,” said Kim Ryan, President and CEO of Hillenbrand. “Community engagement is integral to upholding and living our company Purpose, and supporting our community partners remains a top priority for Hillenbrand. We look forward to continuing to create positive impacts in our community with this fund.”
The RCCF will make applications for the “Hillenbrand – Partner with Possibility Fund” available in April. A group of community leaders will oversee the fund and review applications to select organizations that align best to the Company’s areas of impact.
In partnership with the RCCF, the following leaders have been selected to oversee allocations of the fund:
- Mayor Mike Bettice, Mayor of Batesville, Ind.
- Superintendent Paul Ketcham, Supt. of Batesville Community School Corporation
- Ashley Glaub, Talent and Organizational Effectiveness Leader, Hillenbrand (Batesville area resident)
- Elizabeth Munchel, HR Director, Hillenbrand (Batesville area resident)
- Sam Mynsberge, Vice President of Investor Relations, Hillenbrand (Batesville area resident)
Donations will be awarded on an annual basis. To be considered, non-profits must complete the RCCF application and meet the donation guidelines of both the RCCF and Hillenbrand to be deemed a qualifying organization. Applications for 2023 will be open from April to June, and grant recipients will be announced in July. Applications will be available starting in March, visit: https://rccfonline.org/.
“It is great to see this kind of commitment to our community from Hillenbrand. Hillenbrand has, and continues, to be a valued supporter and partner in our community.
