BATESVILLE, Ind., Dec. 6, 2024 - Hillenbrand, Inc. (NYSE: HI) chose the American Heart Association, the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, to be commemorated at the 101st annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held Thursday as part of the New York Stock Exchange's (NYSE) Global Giving Campaign.

The NYSE Global Giving Campaign inspires NYSE-listed companies to share their efforts to help those in need and promote the important organizations they support. Each participating company and charity are represented with a custom ornament, complete with the charity's logo and the company’s NYSE-listed emblem, used to decorate trees outside the NYSE’s VIP entrance. Additionally, Hillenbrand’s support of the American Heart Association is among NYSE-Listed Company Charitable Highlights on the Global Giving Campaign website.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and worldwide, with stroke ranked fifth in the U.S. and second globally. The American Heart Association funds groundbreaking research, advocates for the public’s health, and provides critical resources to save and improve lives affected by cardiovascular disease and stroke. The Association is the leading non-government funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease scientific research in the U.S. Supported by 35 million volunteers globally, the Association is celebrating 100 years of serving as a leading source for heart and brain health information in 2024.

“At the American Heart Association, our future is about improving the lives of everyone everywhere. We are honored that Hillenbrand has chosen to highlight the American Heart Association through the NYSE Global Giving Campaign,” said Marsha Jones, American Heart Association volunteer board chair and former executive vice president and chief diversity officer for The PNC Financial Services Group. “We are grateful for Hillenbrand’s commitment to prioritizing well-being for its own associates and its support of our efforts to increase health equity in worksites across the country.”

Hillenbrand has supported the American Heart Association regionally, with a focus on the Association’s work on health equity in the workplace. Support of the Association is guided by Hillenbrand’s Chief Financial Officer, Bob VanHimbergen, a member of the Milwaukee American Heart Association Executive Leadership Team. The Association’s Workplace Wellness work has provided Hillenbrand associates with education on strategies, guiding principles, and practices for supporting a healthy workplace through topics including communicating and championing equity. These values align with Hillenbrand’s Purpose – Shape What Matters For Tomorrow™.

“Heart disease and stroke are disruptive forces to many families across the globe, including those within the Hillenbrand organization,” VanHimbergen said. “Through our local support of the American Heart Association, we can help provide resources to our team while investing in healthier people, families, and communities.”
